So... Are people ditching linux and switch to #NetBSD because of systemd, the corpo influence, the chaotic kernel architecture, the overly complex solutions or just because kernel devs using LLMs?

@fx i have tried to switch to NetBSD (and other BSDs) as primary drivers before... never can get x, y, or z hardware to work (i.e. wifi, laptop dock, sound). i ended up on Devuan, which has been great for me, but with the kernel nonsense i need to try again.
anyway, yes, systemd has been around. but for many, i suspect the barrier to entry on BSDs is too high. esp for casual users. hell, i just finished a 9-month programming course and of my 50ish classmates, everyone but me used Windows.

@peachfiend Yeah, the hardware situation isn't ideal. But it's getting a little better!
I use GUIX and FreeBSD, and I'm very happy with it. It's great to have many options. -
