How to give 301 over 404 with moved posts?
-
When I move posts on nodebb and the url changes, is there a way to give visitors a 301 rather than a 404?
In my opinion, this should be done automatically otherwise you get dinged by search engines but I don't see that. -

In my opinion, this should be done automatically otherwise you get dinged by search engines but I don't see that.@NodeHam the post permalink should stay active, since it's tied to the post ID.
The topic index url (e.g. /topic//`) you can't really do 301s for since when new posts are added, they take over those URLs.

I've not checked that yet, not sure how but you're saying that even when a post is moved to another category, it will still be found using the old url?

@NodeHam For example, your last reply here has the permalink

That never changes, even if you move the post out of the topic and to its own topic.
