Big tech is more and more mask-off every day.
@glyph sick of hearing about David.. all he did was vibe code some dot files and people are throwing millions at him. It's ridiculous. Definitely a political motivation behind it all.

@glyph@mastodon.social You forgot to link to evidence. I am very sure if you had, it would have been fine. </s>
It is actually not trivial to find the evidence now, as Big Tech owned search engines are sweeping it under the rug. Go figure. -

@glyph I think DHH might not identify with this label and even find it insulting, so I guess this could be read as a personal attack.
Try writing another post, where you:
- note the increasing popularity of Omarchy
- mention some other ideas promoted by him, including ethnic cleansing and racial purity, preferably including quotes from his blog
- note the dangers of such rhetoric and how it relates to the nazi ideology (if you are able to find quotes from the nazi propaganda that would sound similar, I think it would be beneficial)on Polish linkedin there is a guy named Jan Blew who writes about relations between bigtech and the nazi ideology, and I don't think his posts are being removed

@glyph they deleted my account in 2017, during the first Trump white house. their human moderator farms curate and censor aggressively to their political agenda. life is so much better without it. highly recommend deleting your account before they do it to you.
I should add I used to know the founder back in 2006 and was on podcasts with the LinkedIn CISO after being deleted, and was told several times I could get special help to restore my account. I refused.
similarly I deleted my Facebook account in 2009 with a warning in 2011 that the Russian backed moderation was unsafe for democracy.

@benpate @nette @glyph I am on the fence if this is a good idea or not, as companies may refuse to bite, but I think trying to find some way to track if some company is actually filling positions they post on the job board. There are a lot of job postings out there that are literally just data gathering.
Maybe try reversing the job search? Have people in pools and have companies request to interview them. Because afaict, the current model doesn't work great.
@theeclecticdyslexic @benpate @nette @glyph I started using MainDeck. It even has a linkedin import

@glyph Just a matter of time before "until you delete your post and say something nice about DHH, your LinkedIn profile and posts will be hidden."

@glyph@mastodon.social So, LinkedIn, "Outright hate is fine, but calling outright hate, outright hate, isn't?" Just like so many other platforms out there. I think that... Fediverse is where I mostly want to be. But so many non-tech people are just hard to get off those platforms. Mostly that means I don't interact with them.

@PaniczGodek for now I'm just submitting an appeal since I think this was an automated system that has not received human review yet.

@glyph my first impression of DHH was working with rails in the 00s and reading some of his opinions as a side-effect
He was an asshole and didn't know how relational databases worked. I distinctly remember how his rails docs implied doing the database's job (filtering and aggregating data) in one of the slowest runtimes on earth (ruby) was somehow "better".
Not terribly surprised a stupid, arrogant asshole ended up being a nazi. I still don't get how he wasn't written off as an idiot then
I encountered Rails after WebObjects and my impression was that it was a slow reimplementation of WebObjects with a much worse developer experience. Steve Jobs’ keynote where he introduced WebObjects and the Enterprise Object Framework had a demo that was basically the same as the first learn Rails example and it required about half as much code, eight years before Rails was released.
But everything I read from the Rails people talked as if they’d invented all of these ideas and not just made a slow and bad clone of an existing product.
I largely ignored Ruby and Rails as a result, my only experience with the rest of the adjacent Ruby ecosystem was that they kept claiming to have invented things that Smalltalk had been doing for 20 years before the Ruby people encountered the ideas, in a language whose implementation somehow managed to be slower than the slowest Smalltalk implementation.
