Presence of "ML", especially at the layer folks are engaging with it at, is not important for something to be part of the "AI" con.
But yeah in general let's not step in with a gendered dynamic of correcting (or even amending) experts' statements in their own fields.

Adding is not correcting. Nothing that you have said sounds wrong to me. Reinforcing should be interpreted as agreement, at least in my environment. And consider that,
- english is not my mother tongue
- I've never travelled to an english speaking country
- I have to struggle with an spanish autocorrect to write this
