@Netraven *scratches chin* Yeah, I think it's one of those things that sound good on the surface, but it has problems. In my case, I worried that it would make people reliant on what they think is sure thing, but it relies entirely on opting in from companies and doesn't help against bad actors who have no interest in transparency or honesty. That doesn't include the sort of problems we've already been seeing with stuff like age verification, which has been twisted for capitalist interests, too.

@davidrevoy Sadly, people hating AI are just a loud minority, we have statistical evidences to prove it.

(joke)
We need to stop anthropomorphizing AI
Invoking minions is something humans (and other lifeforms) do, AI is just replicating on expensive devices.
(/joke)
And thank you again for the laugh !

@davidrevoy if anything cheers me up in the “Age of Avian Intelligence(*)” it is how your comics face the issues with a smile. The fact some friends and some admired bloggers are now enthousiast about this technology is depressing.
Can’t wait to see Cepper in a cyberpunk setting
we know you lurked the genre for a long time. Just one strip, neon lights, some robots and black sunglasses!

@SmartmanApps @davidrevoy This is not what i'd call a representative enchantillon since most of people doesn't even know the existence of Duckduckgo. And once again, the success of the AI tools and the AI generated content speaks for itself.
-
@Netraven Thank you. Yes, it's for the fun. I guess there is no AI stupid enough to be programed to execute things they find in a random QR code inside a comic, and all of that with privilege. But I think I'll keep hiding things like that, for "the beauty of it"

@davidrevoy @Netraven well it is possible to execute usb device names in certain "linux distros" so you never know...

@davidrevoy
I found it interesting that on all the panels the birds are flying they are in the "wings open" phase of their flight. My head cannon is that that they've been trained on pictures of birds with their wings open (probably the ones people share the most) so when they fly they open their wings wide and just hover around like this
.

@davidrevoy I happen to know how to do that. I made a quick video, in case you want to know which buttons I'd push: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7DQHFW1YsM

@davidrevoy This is SUCH a mood. Great comic as usual. I love seeing AI companies shoot themselves in the foot.

@encukou Thank you very much! TIL about the perspective effect. Do you know if this effect works on object like (dynamic, not converted as path) texts?
That was my main struggle in this episode: https://www.peppercarrot.com/en/miniFantasyTheater/038.html , where I had to use simple "shearing" (not sure of the term) deformation, to fake perspective.

@VANTABlack2000 Thank you! Yes, I saw many bots being collectively replied with anger by real users, and my first feeling was that the companies, or service creating these bots were only doing this for creating rage/engagement, but I also wonder what the point in training their own audience to rage against this.
Maybe there is layers of bots, by different companies, for different purposes. It's very opaque. My inspiration was a browsing on various article about the percentage of Bots in 2026. -

@Stem @davidrevoy
"since most of people doesn't even know the existence of Duckduckgo" - and yet you have no evidence whatsoever to suggest that people who DO know about it are somehow biased against AI,
not to mention haven't provided ANY DATA whatsoever that supports your ridiculous claim"success of the AI tools and the AI generated content speaks for itself" - yes, the fact that they are all losing money and thus keep having to ask for even more money from investors speaks for itself
