Alright, so I don't feel comfortable writing alt text for works I didn’t make.
When I write alt text for my photos and artwork, I’m ultimately describing my intention. I know what I intend to communicate because of my role in creating such works.
With little exception, I don't know that of others' works. I would need to speculate their intent, and I’m personally not comfortable presenting that speculation as description.
I’m not trying to “fix” this cognitive dissonance at the moment, so please don't give me advice on that, but I am wondering how you folks think I should handle it out of the options below.

@lety Well, I write what I'm looking at - that's what I think alt text is for; telling people who can't see what we see.
