Oh i am overwhelmed with the fediverse. I don't know where to start how to navigate. Everything is foreign.
Currently in wafrn uh where do i find some guides? or at the very at least how ppl use it specifically for me who knows nothing bout the fediverse

#newbie-#help-#fediverse@nilihim There is @FediTips and their website at https://fedi.tips/, but they're mainly Mastodon focused... And while they do have a section on non-Mastodon platforms, they don't yet have a page covering WAFRN. It still might be a good option to start learning how the Fediverse works despite not being tailored to WAFRN, as a lot of concepts are the same or similar no matter which platform on Fedi you're using.
But also so we have an idea of what kind of help you're looking for, what are some of the biggest questions you have, some of your largest stumbling blocks right now? Like, if you were to make a list of "how do I" or "how does x work" type questions, what would be some of the top questions you'd want answers to before anything else?

I don't have anything about Wafrn specifically but there's lots of stuff on https://fedi.tips about the Fediverse that applies to any Fedi platform.
And yes, asking specific questions is a good idea as people can get you the info you need more easily

Thank you everybody for the tips and links I haven't checked or done it yet(i will after!) but I do have some questions.
Just needed a moment to figure out which questions I should ask first…So I get the base idea for the etiquette, how about what's the memes, culture fediverse?
Do you have recommended instances for artists, gamers and indie web related
3rd Is about how things usually works.
From the best of my understanding, the fediverse are a type/groups of sites that has servers called instances that can talk to the other fediverse sites which is how i see bluesky post here and outside my current site. But something about not being really connected? I'm confused at that part. It's probably not exactly how it works but please correct my confusion. /gen
How does blocking/disabling reblogs work in a system like that? How or do I get to see likes from the other instances?
For reference I am a tumblr user bc of the recent events I don't want to be in a platform that actively hates its user base so i am trying out a few sites. Bluesky is the only one closest to fediverse i tried b4 this but I figured that really means nothing.

The Fediverse is a collection of thousands of servers that talk to each other using a common technical standard.
When you interact with an account on another server, the interaction is sent to their server too, and vice versa.
You don't need to be on a particular server because discussions mostly happen across many different servers (for example you and I are on different servers and having this discussion).
