@tml @jon @sebwilken @Jonas_Bostrom @stefanlindbohm Maybe the trains they need to run there are stuck on the wrong branch line?

Interestingly, Haparanda is not listed as an impacted station on Trafikverket's page, so it didn't really make sense

@nafmo @tml @sebwilken @Jonas_Bostrom @stefanlindbohm No, Haparanda - Luleå is one train going back and forth. So ought to be OK.

Trains *are* running in Boden 😄 https://www.trafikverket.se/trafikinformation/tag/?Station=Boden+C&ArrDep=departure

@jon At least the southbound part of Boden C seems operational, yes.

      94 is the Stockholm-Luleå sleeper.
      7103 is Norrtåg Luleå-Umeå.

@jon There’s a SJ train schedules to leave just about now. But it arrived and departs from/to the south. So might not be affected depending on how the power sections are arranged.

@jon It did depart, but I don’t think that tells us anything.

I found a cab view video out of Boden and there’s a power section sign just north before Haparandabanan branches off. This and the fact that Trafikverket only has this one disruption listed which is matching the electrical fault. I would think it’s the correct one.

And if you look at the data for Boden the "Elfel" (electric fault) is only towards Kiruna

I reckon 7185 *could* run, if Norrtåg wants it to. Let's see if they want it to run!

@stefanlindbohm But interestingly there is nothing listed for Haparanda trains that Elfel is the problem.

It is *possible* that they just cancelled the Haparanda one anyway, as they often do, and that the infra would allow it to run.

Anyway I am waiting to see if 7185 does run as a train...

@jon Could also be that Trafikverket forgot to mention the Haparanda line. Sounds unlikely, but time will tell.

7185 does run on the iron ore line for a bit though!

@gufo Right, exactly. That's what is so hard to estimate. If someone could specify more precisely WHERE the problem is that would help a lot!

@jon I’d also think it’s possible that the disruption code is added based in the line the train is marked as running on, but that the power section just slightly extends into the junction. Then maybe the Haparanda trains don’t automatically get the code.

Someone in an operations centre will be needed indeed 🙂

@jon Trafikverket estimates that it will take all day to fix. Could of course be just a pessimistic estimate, but it doesn't sound promising for 7185.

@gufo @jon unrelated, but similarly, I got stuck in Finland due to an overhead wire fault. It ended up taking nearly 24h to fix. I wouldn't count on a quick fix in any case.

@jon So I found a map of exactly where the power sections split, and the section that starts just north of Boden extends exactly to Murjek. So it’s exactly one power section that is down and it does include the junction to Haparandabanan.

The split to the first power section to Haparandabanan is right after the junction in that direction. So you’re missing 4,8 km of power to get any trains in your direction.

@jon If we have someone working at an operator, they have access to internal systems which is similar to the DB ones in Germany, with more detailed info not available to the public. I don’t have this access :((

                                        So I just called Norrtåg

There is a power line down somewhere. If it is fixed in time, 7185 will be a train. If it is NOT fixed in time it will be a bus... 🤔

So how bad is this power line failure?

@jon Damn, maybe we shouldn't have joked yesterday that it will be all fine if only you manage to get to Umeå. 🙃

And if you look at the data for Boden the "Elfel" (electric fault) is only towards Kiruna

I reckon 7185 *could* run, if Norrtåg wants it to. Let's see if they want it to run!

This video explains what is going on: https://peertube.netzbegruenung.de/w/492iv19KegdFh6hW4TNDj7

At about 1100 CEST I will likely know what will happen - if train 7184 leaves Luleå headed to Haparanda, as that turns around here and should be the 13:47 departure (train 7185) to Boden
