So the UK Met Office is inviting people to suggest up to 5 names for storms. And apparently lots of people have been suggesting "Storm Bigoil", along with BP, Equinor, Exxon & Shell... This is obviously appalling & definitely not to be emulated via this link:https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/forms/name-our-storms-call-for-names
Once they’ve closed it, an FOI will be in order to see all the suggestions as I bet they won’t just publish them.

@MarkHoltom Well, the MetOffice have asked for it : “ Is your grandma a force of nature? Does your best friend cause an impact wherever they go? Now you can give them the recognition they deserve, by naming a storm after them.” “Impact”… yeah, Dave or Amy don’t really hit the mark, do they?

@MarkHoltom Exxon is a slightly odd choice, given that their main brand in the UK is Esso.
