    I have had this problem with the #qwant search engine recently: It throws a 403, multiple times, so not really useful at the moment.

    I tried the #noai version of #duckDuckGo, but I don't like it. Now I am testing #startpage, which appears to work fine and have good privacy as well.

    If you know what is the problem with qwant, I'm courious, though 🙂 I'm using librewolf or zenbrowser mostly.

    SOLUTION: disable ublock origin on the site. I'm a big fan of that, but qwant does have good privacy afaict ...

      @anderslund
      I'm not sure if it's a 403 issue, but every now and then it temporarily freezes and needs a reload. I use Firefox (without AI) with various blockers and Proton VPN / Orbot .. so I'm thinking they might as well be the cause, and it works eventually.

        @claugesen Thank you. For me, it is almost the standard to get at least one 403, but often more. I have all sorts of AI turned off, and I'm using ublock origin - maybe disabling that for the site will work.

          @claugesen ... appearently so - I disabled ublock origin for the site, and there are no problems.

            @anderslund Thanks for solving the problem.
            I was trying to figure it out myself, too.

              @artematiko What has happened is that they have killed the "puzzle" challenge, which is nice, but now I get a delay while they are "verifying device", which is worrying. I really wonder what that is ...

                @anderslund I have no idea what the “puzzle challenge” is; I'm sorry.
                I'm trying to use Qwant without uBlock right now.

                  @artematiko They used to have a "prove you are human" challenge requiring you to move a puzzle piece with a slider. The "veryfying device" delaying the page replaced that. I see it often, because I use firefox temporary containers as part of my privacy defence 🙂

                    It looks like the new generation of "device verification" does not like LibreWolf's ResistFingerprinting system. For example gitlab does not like it beeing on.

                    This is thanks to fascist stuff like "AI".

                      I think ublock is blocking api.qwant.com, which is required by the frontend (www.qwant.com).
                      Can you check this, please?

                        @327ppm Does this help? This is after enabling ublock for qwant.com.
