Another Erdoğan-coup.

Livestream of current demo in Malatya, E Turkey, against dictator Erdoğan's currently ongoing coup:

The people of Şişli district of İstanbul, the Mayor of which was also usurped during Erdoğan's current coup, keep protesting in spite of heavy rain this evening.
Protests remain completely banned by the decree-appointed Governor.
Also this time you can hear the neighborhood express its support for the protest by banging pots and pans at home. -

probably to prevent the horrible crime of speaking regime-dissenting opinion to the recorder. -

The pretext for Turkey detaining the journalist Joakim Medin from Sweden on arrival to cover the anti-coup protests is "insulting the president" (of Turkey) and "membership of an armed terrorist organization", according to dokuz8HABER's report just now.
Now Reuters confirmed the default charges against anyone the Erdoğan-regime dislikes are being used against the journalist Joakim Medin from Sweden too.
It's this https://todon.eu/@b9AcE/109677366052782731 protest in Stockholm that they've decided is "membership in a terrorist organization" and "insulting the president" (...a president who is an insult to humanity).https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/swedish-journalist-jailed-turkey-terrorism-insult-charges-2025-03-28/
Also, I've never seen anyone call that person by the name "Kaj" before... -

We want to hereby make it clear that Joakim Medin is not, and has never been, a member of the Rojava Committees. The journalist Medin did not participate in any way in our action and Turkey's actions further strengthen the image of a deeply undemocratic regime which is extensively using the terrorism label to silence opposition, protests and journalism.
─────Medin's editor in chief also commented that the "membership in a terrorist organization" accusation is "One hundred percent false. Medin is a journalist, nothing else".

─────
Once again: Joakim Medin has never been a member of the Rojava Committees and had nothing to do with our action. It was planned and carried out entirely by us. But it is hardly a coincidence that Erdoğan jails the Swedish journalist who has most diligently scrutinized Turkey's persecution of Kurds
That Turkish authorities dare imprison a Swedish journalist is also a direct consequence of the Swedish government's groveling before the despot Erdoğan.To Turkey and Erdoğan in particular, we send the greeting that they can expect more actions in the future

People released on probation were greeted with general applause at the İstanbul "Justice" Palace:
An aerial view of the anti-coup protest gathering today in İstanbul (see previous toot in this thread).
That is a lot of people.Especially considering public transport reportedly didn't add more capacity for the expected hugely extraordinary amount of users, so people were just left standing at the stations.
Oh, also, all protests, gatherings, leafleting, petitions gathering, press conferences, etc are still blanket banned by the unelected Governor imposed by dictator Erdoğan's decree.
