        @davidrevoy is it possible this comic should have been released 2-3 weeks earlier, and the explanation as to why it only came out now is in the comic itself?

                @davidrevoy

                Somebody needs to brush up on her ice and wind spells. Hot weather's no trouble when you've got a big block of ice in your house and a firm breeze circulating the air around.

                Fun fact: some large buildings have huge blocks of ice in their basements, which they generate by freezing water with refrigeration powered by cheap nighttime electricity. The ice is then used to cool the building during the day. This will probably go away when solar power becomes more common, but still neat.

                  @davidrevoy

                  (I say it will probably go away when solar power becomes more common because, with solar, electricity at night comes from a battery, so using it to freeze water like this would be inefficient. With solar, you'd want to do things the old-fashioned way—run air conditioners during the day—because that's when there's plentiful sunlight with which to power them.)
