@arcanechat I switched my family to Wire over the winter.
It runs nicely on GrapheneOS, whereas signal was very demanding.

And can send large files (+256 MB) too@flan the large files is indeed one advantage, but SimpleX much complex to setup instances for, there are not many at the moment, the app advertise mainly selecting between 2 providers
also SimpleX is super easy to block in places where Delta Chat has been kept working
the SimpleX UI is also a bit not so user-friendly so not something that can be a good replacement for Signal and WhatsApp
