    @davidrevoy
I found it interesting that on all the panels the birds are flying they are in the "wings open" phase of their flight. My head cannon is that that they've been trained on pictures of birds with their wings open (probably the ones people share the most) so when they fly they open their wings wide and just hover around like this 😆.

@csolisr @ayke ha, not for this one. The QR code needed a specific contrast to work while being "perspective deformed" and I can do that only with Krita. I'll see if I can use Inkscape on a later one to expose this type of overlay to the translation system 😆

@davidrevoy I happen to know how to do that. I made a quick video, in case you want to know which buttons I'd push: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7DQHFW1YsM

@VANTABlack2000 Thank you! Yes, I saw many bots being collectively replied with anger by real users, and my first feeling was that the companies, or service creating these bots were only doing this for creating rage/engagement, but I also wonder what the point in training their own audience to rage against this.
Maybe there is layers of bots, by different companies, for different purposes. It's very opaque. My inspiration was a browsing on various article about the percentage of Bots in 2026.

@SmartmanApps @davidrevoy This is not what i'd call a representative enchantillon since most of people doesn't even know the existence of Duckduckgo. And once again, the success of the AI tools and the AI generated content speaks for itself.

"since most of people doesn't even know the existence of Duckduckgo" - and yet you have no evidence whatsoever to suggest that people who DO know about it are somehow biased against AI, 🙄 not to mention haven't provided ANY DATA whatsoever that supports your ridiculous claim

"success of the AI tools and the AI generated content speaks for itself" - yes, the fact that they are all losing money and thus keep having to ask for even more money from investors speaks for itself 🙄

@SmartmanApps @Stem I agree with Stemy here. My observations, outside of my bubble and outside my comic, is that a large majority are using AI by opportunity.

It is free, and provide them the feeling of doing chore faster (writing, making visuals) and also give them information directly without the pain of searching, browsing, and being confronted to various website format and banneers/paywal/ads.

So, the majority is adopting it as a progress in their life, because it is lazy/easy. (1/2)

Not to mention you ALSO failed to show that only people who had heard of DuckDuckGo were the ones who voted. e.g. I only heard about it because someone on Mastodon posted the link, and is thus completely unrelated to DuckDuckGo (which I don't use) 🙄

@SmartmanApps @Stem (2/2) This opportunistic usage comes also with understanding of the ecological issues, the training data issue, the big corp owning it issue; but they often rationalize that for them, using it provide them an individual edge, and give them more time.

So, this big majority tends to like reading things against AI and things pro AI too; for the entertainement of seeing it as inside an arena of idea. They feel outside of the debate.

It's like that for many topic, imo.

@SmartmanApps @Stem I don't think the poll is representative. People in our era ready to even participate to a poll and take action or getting a Pro/Cons mindset are the minority.
Most individual prefer to keeps anonymous, don't express publicly any preferences that could be used against them later, just pass their way and maximize their adaptation to the most dominant culture later, especially if this one become so dominant it starts a witchhunt of the adversarial group later.

"I don't think the poll is representative" - and you would be wrong about that. The DuckDuckGo one had 175,000 votes!

"People in our era ready to even participate to a poll" in a random sample are representative of the population, once you have 25 votes. The DuckDuckGo one had 175,000 votes. Even the Mastodon one had 5,000 votes, and both got the same result

"Most individual prefer to keeps anonymous" - both polls were anonymous

Is there any actual evidence that AI companies are doing that?

"I don't think the poll is representative" - and you would be wrong about that. The DuckDuckGo one had 175,000 votes!

"People in our era ready to even participate to a poll" in a random sample are representative of the population, once you have 25 votes. The DuckDuckGo one had 175,000 votes. Even the Mastodon one had 5,000 votes, and both got the same result

"Most individual prefer to keeps anonymous" - both polls were anonymous

my anecdotes anyways but people around me are pro-AI than anti

Smartman, don't get me wrong, I would love to believe in this poll's results. But in my local reality (at weddings, in my repair garage, at the restaurant, on week-end) when I listen to my non-technical peers, it contradicts this poll.

To me, this 175K of votes (minus the 10% who voted "pro AI") is just the result of active link shared in communities informed about AI issues, and activists (love them, btw, no problem here). Also, 175K is not a lot.
