For my new hunter I wanted to try Marks as a spec.

For my new hunter I wanted to try Marks as a spec. I haven't played Marks since Lich King so I thought with the character and her being for RP it kinda fit her. However now that I've played it a bit I'm not sure I like it.
1. Once you select the spec they take away your pet.
2. They give it back to you at level 19 but only if you select a talent.
3. Then at 25 they take it away again and replace it with an eagle. You have no other option of bird.(1/2) #WorldOfWarcraft

Look I get it, they want Marks to feel different then the other specs. I just personally think taking away player options is not the way to do it. You want me to have a bird fine why can't I have a Raven or something. Heck we even had a hunter skill at some point that had Ravens.
I should have done some research before I made this chick. I might just get her to 25 and see what it's like. Maybe leave her at Silvermoon for the expansion and not level her.

Wait there is more to this rant.
Also because they've made leveling ridiculously easy you don't get any real experience with how a class/spec plays. There is no damn way I'd get this chick to TWW heck even DF content and she'd still be able to one shot mobs.
Also why the heck do they push DF on you at fucking level 10! Why do they make make all their other content irrelevant?! Ugh I hate vertical leveling lol. I wonder if brand new players to WoW get confused.

@pixelone I think old players that return get more confused than new players.
A new player does not know about the previous expansions. They see: Starting Zone -> DF -> TWW.
Old players might expect to get the story of burning crusade, Loch king etc, but are confused when taken directly to DF. Thats how I felt on my first character back. I expected to level through BfA and shadow lands, but it's like they never existed .

@Strit I guess I mean you go from just a normal person to being the champion of the horde/alliance.
I suppose that's only a concern for someone like me who cares about the story. If all you want to do is hit mobs and stuff then I guess it doesn't matter.

@pixelone you get called a champion in the startings zones too, don't you?
It's been a while since I last went through one, so I could be wrong here. -

It's been a while since I last went through one, so I could be wrong here.@Strit Naw I don't think so. I'm going through the BE ones and I don't recall being called that. I do recall being a hero after Ghostlands but that is quite honestly the only starting zone I've done a few times.

@pixelone I stand corrected then.
Yeah, that could be jarring to new people. Like why am I suddenly a champion....
