I feel another trans person I know has gone to the dark side ... The side of the Cis and hiding their past
So once again, I feel I need to say it
"Embrace your past, free your future"
Will I answer the door or phone when they find out the cis side is not for them, of course I will

@MelissaBearTrix@gives.hugz.online no, with respect, your attitude is not universal, Mel. not all of us celebrate either being trans, or having a trans history enroute to our womanhood or manhood [eg, i absolutely hate it, & regard it as a diabolical curse]. not all of us wish to have a "trans identity", nor be publicly known as a trans peep. for some of us an aspiration to stealth & passing is central to our sense of self & wellbeing.

Yes their family and friends ... But never from a future partner
And I've just accepted the fact that I will never pass ... Thus embraced my trans identity ... Mostly to provoke others ... Giggles

When I first started learning about being trans, a desire for deep stealth and cis passing was required to get access to HRT during the dwindling days of DSM IV and the last gasps of Blanchard. That's where I started. I don't begrudge people who still feel like that as long as they don't force everybody to transition the same way. Everybody's transition is their own. Everybody's transition should be their own. In today's climate, it can be a matter of safety. I know some people don't get to choose and, in an ideal world, we would all be safe no matter what. You can be disappointed. You can wish they'd reconsider. You can even, as you are doing, be willing to accept them changing their mind later. But please don't judge or assume they are making a mistake they will regret. This might be right for them. It might not be. But it might be. You come across as someone who has very passionate opinions; you also come across as someone who cares a great deal. I hope your friend can still count on your friendship if they want it. My transition never ends. Everyday I'm becoming someone new. We all do. Trans folks just a bit more dramatically. See who they are tomorrow.

Thank you
I will always be there for any trans person ... And yes I have been there a number of times for the same person and many others, when their complete life falls apart because after 'X' years they were suddenly were found out ... I tell you now it's messing and no one is not deeply hurt, both sides
I've seen it happen too many times and seen many other things devastating for trans people and I still feel this is the worst for all sides
It's not fair on no one

Sometimes it's really hard to be yourself or to even figure out who that is. Choices, good and bad, even mistakes, especially mistakes, are the only path to knowing.
But you already know that because you've seen it over and over.
I'm guessing the ones who don't fall apart instead disappear. That was the prescribed plan all those years ago: transition "fully", all surgeries, cut ties to your former life, move away, start fresh with nobody knowing, ever. I still have a "motivational" DVD from that era.
I think, in today's world, that's no longer possible. Nobody gets to be Wendy Carlos or Caroline Cossey. You can be Caitlyn Jenner or Laverne Cox.

@MelissaBearTrix You mean to say hiding yourself to cosy up to people who hate you has negative consequences both now and in the future, for you, those around you, and the community at large?
Who could have possibly known this basic fact taught in primary schools for the past 80+ years?
