We're 9 minutes in the meeting and he's taking over. Some people can't help themselves?? They just *have* to dominate meetings because.....???
- they want to feel important?
- they like to hear themselves speak?
- they are blind to the fact that they are dominating a group?
- they are assholes??
- ....?????? -

- ....??????@maaikees I’m regularly in meetings with people like that. Usually the reason is some of all of your points.
I’ve got one particular colleague who is convinced that he knows everyone else’s jobs better then they themselves do, and sees it as his moral obligation to “help them” by pointing out what he thinks they should be doing. -

- ....??????@maaikees i observe additional motivations:
- the feeling that things are out of control combined with the feeling that people run in the wrong direction when not directed
- the arrogance to believe that they uh understand the business better than anybody else in the room -

- ....??????@maaikees or cultural? I experienced this a couple days ago but it crossed my mind afterwards that it might be something perfectly normal in their culture. Doesn't excuse it though, they should try to adopt to the social norms of the community that they are engaging in.
