Just watched a video I am absolutely not reposting of an American woman sobbing into the camera because some people were horrible to her in a pub in Cushendall and made her cry and feel “unsafe”.

Context she conveniently wasn’t mentioning: she’s MAGA, said some incredibly ignorant and offensive things, and then took offense when a conversation *she wasn’t part of* started discussing how awful Trump had been for the world and left in a huff to make a video of her crying about how horrible people are in the North of Ireland.
Good lads in Cushendall.

Americans who come to Ireland: you WILL be asked who you voted for. 99% of the time all you need to do is make it clear you hate Trump and everything will be grand and you will make friends.
If you’re up against one of the small minority of gammon-faced melts who love Trump, then first of all you need to leave that pub immediately because it’s shite, then obviously you tell them you hate Trump anyway, just because it’s funny to watch them go purple.

@astronomerritt I live in Scotland and saw two roasters wandering our streets last Saturday, wearing Trump woolly hats. Fannies.

@IndyRichard I hope they also get mocked right out of a pub, and I hope they cry about it.

@astronomerritt Hmm, sounds like she's still heavily relying on wokeness, empathy, common decency and respect - all those things she's worked so hard to end.

@freequaybuoy Oh, no, they’re worse than that. She thinks SHE is entitled to respect, decency and empathy because she’s a special white American lady, but anyone different from her is not.

@MisuseCase Apparently they also tried to educate her a bit because she very stupidly referred to Ireland as being part of the UK and said she didn’t understand why the Irish “hate the UK so much”. She seems to have taken offence to the education, which tracks. MAGA hate learning things.

You know what? I love that tourists come here. I want more tourists to come here. But sometimes I think there should be a question at passport control at all Irish airports.
“Do you understand why you shouldn’t order an Irish Car Bomb here?”
And if they don’t have a clue then put them right back on the plane.

@astronomerritt Wow. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that people do that, but wow.
