Yay, I'm not the only one that thinks autumn starts on September 1st!@wannabemystiker Wait, what? Does it not?
September, October, November: Autumn. December, January, February: Winter. Etc. I thought these were generally accepted seasonal divisions for general purposes. (As opposed to, probably, specific nuances if you work in the Met office or the European Space Agency or somewhere that needs to be astronomically precise.)

I'm a fan of the auld solstices myself, but have never factored them in to my glad-amatør understanding that the start of the calendar month is the start of the season. I probably should, but probably won't.
