I signed up for the Paris Marathon on April 12, 2026.

Back on the tracks for an easy run.
Distance: 8.43k
Pace: 5'16"Malmö Marathon in 50 days.

Klart klart. Men all bets are off, når det er over 35 km.

A nice and long morning run.
I got up early to get this run in before the planned family activities. The world was still quiet, and I did not meet other runners (or people in general) until the last quarter of my run. I met wild rabbits.
It took some time before my body settled into the run. So I ran this one on experience and did not really push myself at any point. It was fine.
Distance: 21.29k
Pace: 5'35"CphHalf in 35 days, Malmö Marathon in 48.

I'm impressed by the consistent sub 2-hour half marathons you keep producing!
Even when you take it easy and don't push or anything.
Great morning today!
I took a walk along the water (the europapalle is from that walk) and got sweaty! Out before 8 o'clock 🫣

I started the day with a cruel 1-hour treadmill exercise through "rolling hills."
The treadmill and the #NikeRunClub app were in huge disagreement about the metrics of the run. The former seemed somewhat conservative, which tricked me into running harder than usually.
More than anything, this was endurance training. And I am glad I did it.
Distance: 11.46k (app) or 10.38k (treadmill)
Pace: 5'14" or 5'47"#CphHalf in 34 days, Malmö Marathon in 47.

This morning, I did a 35-minutes tempo run to train stamina. I pushed for a hard (but not all-out) effort, and I kept it up throughout the run. What a nice way to start the day.
I was also pleasantly reminded of how R.E.M.'s "Supernatural Superserious" is an amazing song for some fast #running.
This was my 101st run this year.
Distance: 6.84k
Pace: 5'10"#CphHalf in 32 days, Malmö Marathon in 45.

I wanted to see what I could actually do in terms of #running, so I did:
- 2k warm-up
- 8k tempo run
- 2k cool-down (keeping the pressure on)This was *hard* as I both fought exhaustion and increased effort and pace. It was also very enjoyable.
The result: I didn't give everything, but I was faster than the 10k-in-49min goal I have set for the year. It was my fastest 10k ever. I'm very happy.
Distance: 12.03k
Pace: 4'52"Havdrup Familieløb (10k) in 9 days.

Wauw Aske!!!
That's amazing! Tremendously happy for you!
Moving towards and passing that 5:00/km pace is really a mental barrier, at least it is for me
🫣Congratulations

So ... this happened.
I ran the full marathon distance unplanned.
I set out to do 30k, took some wrong turns (i.e., more distance), had to swing by the bakery, and then I was at 40k before I got home, so I dropped off the cakes and YOLOed an extra 2.2k to get *there*.
I felt good throughout, did not really hit the wall. Doing this was crazy and brutal and great. This brings me joy.
Distance: 42.21k
Pace: 5'45"Havdrup Familieløb (10k) in 7 days.

@askekammer
An accidental marathon! 🤩You're really in great shape Aske!!
Can I please get a PB check?
Something about a pace of 5:45/km and distance of 42.2 km seems awfully close to this also being a personal best?
Anyway, you're definitely not keeping it boring!
This was just after you crushed it on the 10 km earlier this week
Enjoy the cake!

"An accidental marathon" - I like that phrasing.
Around 25k I did the math and realized where this could go, and at 32k I committed to it.
It's a new PR, no doubt! According to my app, I did it in 4:01:54, which is around a 12 min. improvement.
It has been a wild week in terms of running, indeed. I do, however, see the irony that neither of the PRs (both of which met my goals of the year) are on record with official time-keeping. So I have to do it again later.

And thank you!!

New marathon and new 10k PB in the same week.
And an anniversary on top of that 🤩
I'd say "I can't get my hands down" but I've just returned from a hard training session so...
