Finally got an #inkscape video put together

This year has been pretty burn-out heavy. Just struggle to do certain kinds of programming without the kind of support that I thik you'd see in a larger team. So a break from the engine and work on UI for a few weeks.
@doctormo I can only imagine what kind of a daunting task the cmyk integration must be – hats off to you and thanks for your dedication!

@doctormo Congrats on all the work thus far!
I actually find UI development to be quite stressful, so I think our ideas of "breaks" are a bit different.

@doctormo Heh!
I've been working on a shape tool which has been fun, and now I'm at the "design a UI" phase which I dread.
(Most of the feedback has been "Make it look like Inkscape!", of course) -

@doctormo That sounds overwhelming and thank you for taking care of my favorite graphics program.

@doctormo luckily inkscape is in pretty great shape as it is, so no need to hurry

(Most of the feedback has been "Make it look like Inkscape!", of course)Do you not have a design team or volunteers who can help with that work? It's incredibly helpful to be able to lean on other people sometimes for this kind of work.
As for make it like inkscape... I mean we do put effort into our UI (and UX testing) but its not always the bees knees, a new idea might be just as useful to us as to you if you do it.

@doctormo We do (https://gitlab.gnome.org/Teams/GIMP/Design/gimp-ux/-/work_items), and they're great!
But coming up with the initial one is always tricky for me. I want to give them something halfway coherent to review.

The shape tool raw now is fairly basic - I think they just want it to have all the Inkscape features, haha!

Thank you for all your work on Inkscape!
I've used it as part of my scientific work, for many figures in my articles.
Sometimes just to be able to easily arrange and annotate, not really using any of the advanced features.
But having a script that can automatically export to the format I need when the underlying input images change, has just been too easy to set up
