So very much this. Those of us who love communication haven't been aware until now, but most people don't distinguish between form, content & most importantly, INtent - they simply never learned & didn't care because they didn't have to & now LLMs jump in to exploit this gap in knowledge/understanding.
Also: Yes, it IS cheating, pure & simple. Just as it would be if you asked a classmate to "write a text about [thing]" & turned it in as your own.
