In reality, the USA has always been Europe's enemy. But our politicians, 'could not see the forest, because of the trees'. -

But our politicians, 'could not see the forest, because of the trees'.@patricksudlow Well, it's complicated; yes, the US has always served its own interests - but for most of history going back to WWII, these interests have been expressed by way of soft power, i.e. aligning them with interests abroad, resulting in mutual benefits, everything from the UN to USAIID.
Which is why it's so ironic that the MAGA crowd thinks these orgs are a bunch of dirty foreigners exploiting the US; if anything it's the other way around.
