Just saw a post on LinkedIn by Microsoft's chief #accessibility officer, who was apparently at #NFB. Very much accessibility-first language, develop tools WITH and not for the #disability community, thanks for all the conversations.
Greatly LinkedInspiring for those who weren't there this week. but ...a bunch of accessibility people got the boot. I happen to know about that. And with that knowledge the post rings about as hollow as an empty oil drum in a desert. Sorry, really not sorry.

@zersiax Microsoft has always had the best frontend / user experience people - too bad they were only ever used to wheel out to look good & say the right things while corporate leadership actively ignored everything they said in order to enshittify at top clip.

@jwcph @zersiax I’d argue a hallow drum in a desert makes more sounds worthwhile than, I'm sure, whatever that speech was he gave. Despite it's critiques I actually liked the Xbox Narrator implementation. One area of this is very evident. I recently got into streaming games again, and, to the best of my knowledge, there's no way for the PS5 screen reader to review previous text on command. Xbox narrator had scan mode and that was fantastic. But also, snarky aside, someone should tell the new CEO that if they want to have a billion players, LOL, they need to include disabled people to get to that number.
