@deelion I’ve been here for quite some time, and I can assure you that feeling never quite goes away. It’s a fun place with a lot of little pockets of subcultures I’d never had much exposure to before. Make sure to follow a bunch of hashtags and boost everything you find even remotely interesting — there’s not an algorithm to help people discover content, so those two steps are super helpful.

@msh I just got flashbacks to 2005 when my friends spent all their time on the internet and I was still limited to an hour a day on dial-up, wondering why they kept typing 1337 on their calculators.
I'll embrace and enjoy my new found ignorance!

@deelion in my experience, it's because it's actually hundreds of little communities with their own lore and culture intermingling
