Okay but, is it… meant to look like that?
@Nickiquote Because… it’s been plugged?

-
Okay but, is it… meant to look like that?
@Nickiquote THEY DID IT AGAIN
-
@pauldrye @Nickiquote Sit your arse down here for a minute.
-
@Nickiquote I'm seeing a bunny. I'm choosing a bunny!
That's because you're pure of heart and mind Shelly.
Which is frankly a miracle given some of the reprobates you fraternise with on here (naming no names).

@TwoClownsEating @Nickiquote I just try to believe in the best of everything =D

I don't know this specific design, but typically airships operate at very low pressure - relying on the low density of helium for buoyancy and only a fraction of a PSI to maintain the shape of the envelope.
I know of an observation balloon that became untethered in Iraq around 2006. The US military shot many holes in it trying to prevent it from drifting away, but the gas leaks out very slowly.
It's a bit like trying to open a plastic blister pack with a pushpin.
@swope @Nickiquote @BobLefridge which makes perfect sense. If opening a hole would shoot them in the opposite direction while reducing altitude, that’s how they would land them. They would line it up a couple miles out and pull the plug. They’d need tail hooks, it’d be crazy.

""perfectly suited to meeting the fast-paced and ever-changing needs of the military market""As long as slow, meets your "fast paced" needs

@passwordsarehard4
@Nickiquote @BobLefridgeLol ok.
But seriously, I think the main flaw with airships is that helium is expensive and non-renewable. Once it escapes into the atmosphere it's gone on any human timescale, and we're probably past peak helium already.

@Nickiquote
Should I hazard a guess as to what exactly I can see in that picture is saving the emissions? -
Okay but, is it… meant to look like that?
@Nickiquote I like big blimps and I cannot lie.
- Sir Mix-A-Lot, probably -
@stavvers
Flying Ass in the sky!
I can ship twice as wide!
Take a shit!
And look at it!
It’s a cool ass blimp!Mother whale eyeless modified would go good here

@Nickiquote NO

Okay but, is it… meant to look like that?
@Nickiquote I'd hit that.
-
Okay but, is it… meant to look like that?
@Nickiquote The problem is that once you disembark nobody will take you seriously with that helium voice.

@passwordsarehard4 @Nickiquote @BobLefridge @swope We can just switch to hydrogen. Nobody reads history anyway.
-
Okay but, is it… meant to look like that?
@Nickiquote it used to hang in the air in exactly the same way bricks don't. You could see it clearly from miles away in Milton Keynes when it was testing.
-
@Nickiquote Hindenbussy!
@blueemu @Nickiquote You must always finish on the Hindenbach!
-

I'll bet they made it so it can fart.
