    I looked at the replies to this post, did some more digging, and found the actual story is *even weirder.*

    BOTH projects were generated using Claude. So you have two people - both generating the same app from the same training data - having a public throw down over who copied who. Kind of embarrassing.

    The one guy claiming his Claude generated code as an original creation no one else can "copy" is maybe the most embarrassing part.

      The "original" developer does claim to know how to code - which wasn't clear from my research. That still doesn't necessarily mean the original app was the source of the training data. They both may be a result of the same training data.

      Although the original app being a web app makes it so you cannot eliminate the possibility it did get sucked into training data at some point.

            So who did the "Claude" system copy it from?

            I was thinking yesterday to all code repositories and copyright facts sites need to be blocked somehow from LLM scrapers.

            I can't imaging how.

            It's corporate IP theft, no matter if a blog, question & reply on a forum, book, program, song, art or photo.
