They did, in fact, get caught, and will now be going to jail.
Well then.
Thanks for red-teaming the system, guys. Great work. I'm pleased to report that the security measures in place are fully operational and functioning to spec.
️@argv_minus_one @inthehands I'd like to think they'll go to jail, but they'll probably get off with a minimal fine, if that.

This is the process these Project Veritas bozos thought was insecure. They were wrong.
People hear about Minnesota’s process and think, over and over and over, that they’ve found the flaw, that it’s insecure or messy or unworkable or whatever. They’re always wrong. Every damn time.
We’ve had a few •squeakers• of elections here (like this one: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008_United_States_Senate_election_in_Minnesota) that have put the whole system under an intense national spotlight: hand recounts, ballot challenges, partisan operatives scouring for anything they can sue about, any whiff of fraud or mishandled process or even just vague doubt.
And Minnesota’s election process has come out shining • every • single • time.
3/
@inthehands Elections highlight why /state/ control of the elections is important. You can not compromise 50 states worth of ballots at once from the seat of power.

@inthehands O'Keefe's no longer with Project Veritas, actually; they fired him in 2023 for stealing donor money.
But he's still pulling the same stunts.

Paul, I'm watching your posts from another country, across the ocean (UK) and find them so inspiring, thank you. We can relate to many of the same challenges here.
Please keep sharing if you're able
@StingrayBadger I’m an election officer (what Minnesota calls a “judge”: a citizen who plays an official role on the day) and I’m the chief in my precinct on this coming Tuesday. I usually live-post throughout the day on the #electionofficer hashtag. We start at 5:00am eastern, so 10:00am UK. Follow along if you want.
Being chief and with it expected to be busy, I may not be posting as much as usual. But I will definitely post some.

This was in Minneapolis, so yet again (argh) the national news hits close to home. I’d just like to say something about Minnesota’s elections:
They’re good. They’re really good. They’re arguably the best-run in the country; they consistently have among the highest turnout (and usually •the• highest).
Part of the reason for this is that they are •not• one size fits all. We have:
- mail voting for all
- early voting for all
- election day voting for all…and if you’re not already registered, you can register:
- with multiple forms of approved ID
- or even more forms of ID + a utility bill
- or a neighbor vouching for you (under penalty of perjury)…and you can do any of those ••at the polling place on election day.••

I graduated from high school in a #minnesota town. My mother vouched for me.

@inthehands we also, thankfully, let former convicts vote after their incarceration has ended.

@paco @StingrayBadger @inthehands
I'm an election judge in #Texas. We are only permitted to use our phones for election-related activity.
And #voters are prohibited from using any electronic device that can record images, video, and/or audio.
This means that voters can only bring in written notes, guides, etc.
That said, a voter in a prior election took out their phone and took a picture of their ballot before they scanned it.
This was during early voting, and I was not an election worker. I loitered to see what would happen, and I heard that the cop say they couldn't charge them.
Because #ACAB

@inthehands none of this will matter if these guys aren’t put in jail and dealt severe consequences, otherwise, what is the point of all this. . .
-
Given that the charges are coming from a county prosecutor, I do wonder whether some of them will be MN state charges (which a US president cannot pardon)
@inthehands @RiaResists Federal charges would be brought by an assistant US attorney. These will all be at the state level.

@inthehands I am laughing my ass off about this after two separate attacks on me from Veritias back in 2017. I won, they lost but this is a beef that keeps on giving as far as I am concerned.
How you like it now O'Keefe? I am free as a bird and you are facing a felony!
O'Keefe can eat shit and disgusting jail/prison food forever as far as I am concerned.
Those who laugh last always laugh the loudest- ultimate FAFO karma here...

@inthehands @RiaResists They need to be state charges, Federal charges would be a waste of time due to Trump's pardons.

The Republicans’ nation-wide racist obsession with Minnesota surely stems from an underlying feeling that Minnesota is •supposed to• be white. Other places, like say California or NYC? Oh, whatever, they’re already polluted by the sinister Other, and just need to be contained or beaten into submission. But Minnesota being diverse? Well •that• the right-wingers cannot abide.
5/
@inthehands A long time ago, on a Usenet group far away, one of the regulars was from that state. As far as I could tell, the whiteness in what they called "Minnesnowda" had nothing to do with skin...
