    @roknrol

    Oh, I don't know. More and more I see the inherent value in a sunset, the way the flowers smell and a hug from someone who truly understands you

    @PetraPhoenix Nature's ok, but I notice how many fewer bugs there are than there used to be. How much less non-destructive wildlife there is.

    And with very very few exceptions, I can do without hugs entirely.

    I'm ok alone in my house, alone in my yard...alone. I suppose that counts as "offline". But for human interaction? Offline is just very very bad for me.

      @roknrol

      We are all different, and that's ok.

      Yes things are looking worse, but that doesn't mean that there is no delight in what is still here.

      I think we probably have very different outlooks here (again, no judgement, just an observation) and you might find my relentless search for the positive somewhat irritating

          It's all good, I enjoy your online company. But I know that I have annoyed people in the past with my constant reframing.

            @PetraPhoenix I probably need people pushing back on me, to be honest. I can be really willful in my opinions; they should be challenged.

              @roknrol

              The fact you know that about yourself shows a great deal more awareness than a huge number of people!

              One of the things I like about the Quakers in the UK is that in their Faith and Practice they have the line "consider that you may be mistaken" and I feel the world would be a better place if more people did this

                @PetraPhoenix Oh yes, absolutely. If we aren't able to grow, what's the point in doing anything? Growth can be uncomfortable, but equally as rewarding. And we can't grow if we're unwilling to change when we're wrong.

                    I have just had to explain the goose thing to someone who is not really online.

                    Impossible.

                    Simply do not try.

                    There is no value in offline goose explanations

                    @PetraPhoenix me, trying to explain the crying girl and cat meme and how I have a Japanese version of it on a T-shirt. My Dentist: So, anyway, you need to floss more.

                      See https://youtu.be/KTwCo2Jn1d0 for a short video explanation of why the analogy is unhinged 🙂
