@blogdiva Also remember that a lot of the work that is presented to us as AI is extremely dependent on low-wage hard labour by Africans. The most reports I've seen have been about Kenya, but there are probably other countries high on the list as well.

Invector may not have been very tactful but I agree with his point that the issue is having internalized the concept of "race" in humanity as opposed to having a spectrum of melanin concentration and many other spectrums of other variables. Race has become a fixed thing that people defend staunchly.
The real divide between Invector and the other group is one of perspective. Invector is idealist and mistaking the end goal with the struggle to get there. -

The unit of action in that state of mind is ”joy of obedience”, or something. Which is implicit in racism always.
Fpr the authoritarian, the natural order of things is that something ”with more power”, like an AI model, should joyously be celebrated as a good thing, and we should submit because of that power.
It’s a simple mindset, yet it guides so many because evolution preferred survival over justice, so scared people are more.
