I guess what we need to do is either find or make a website that makes it incredibly simple to sign up for whichever services a person is interested in, no matter how ignorant of technology they are. But that does seem to be the stumbling block when it comes to mass adoption of Fediverse services.

Yes, our town libraries are privately owned =\ so that's a whole thing. But I have a county library card as well and it's a large wealthy county so I feel like it should offer more of these.

@mtechman I agree, but also note that Libby (owned by for-profit OverDrive) charges per-book licensing fees to your library, and those fees are more expensive than buying physical books. Just saying for your awareness.
