Every Ken Follett strong feeeemale character during every phase of British history:

- Extremely skillful and resourceful does everything better than the men around her can do but also, and this is important, most fetchingly.
- Very ethical and also cunning and brave but also frightened and admirable but with some vulnerabilities and strong but with a softer side.
- Has been through a lot which has just made her stronger not bitter and definitely not a man-hater in fact really rather horny and up for it right now as a matter of fact.

I myself have spent time in Barnes and Noble (1) putting bookmarks for the GI Rights Hotline into books by Tom Clancy, WEB Griffin, et al.., and (2) reshelving Rush Limbaugh and his ilk into fantasy fiction.
