@Clutha Don't know about UK, but a quick search tells me that the bird death toll fron wind turbines is about one million per year in the US. That number pales beside deaths caused by predatory house cats, which is about one billion.
As a lover of both cats and birds, I urge cat owners to keep their pets indoors.

So while I’m all in favour of any way to mitigate bird deaths, those who cite these deaths as a reason to oppose wind power are being disingenuous.

(I've tried to search for a source before, but couldn't find one, and it's come up a few times here at home - cat and birb lover here at home in Ireland, too!)

@clickhere @Clutha I found the US figure of approximately one billion deaths with a simple search. There seems to be plenty of evidence from many sources. I have been reading about it for 20 years or more.
I have kept my cats indoors since the 80s to protect them. Saving birds is a big dividend. -
