    #eclipse suggestion & request: how'bout we create a stream of tagged eclipse photos (taken just when the sun is most hidden) of tomorrow's eclipse!

    Post consisting of a photo (showing the eclipsed sun), time of maximum eclipse for your location* and the name of the location.

    Use hashtag #EclipseStream

    Please boost so more people join! Might become a nice timelapse!

    @Pepijn if someone made a video of all the images of the eclipse taken at ecxactly the same time but from different locations - wouldn't that make it a spacelapse in stead of a timelapse? 😁

      Oh! And remember not to look directly into the sun without proper #eclipse glasses!

      Unless you're Donald Trump that is. Then you do you.

      @Pepijn @quixoticgeek If you don't have #eclipse glasses, you can make a simple projector with a sheet of cardboard and a white sheet of paper. Make a small round hole in the cardboard, and let the sun shine through the hole. Capture the image on the paper, a few meters away. You should see the moon take a bite out of the sun.

          @benjaminlj Yes it would.

          But that's why I asked about each persons local max coverage, which is not all at the same time. For example:

          Kolding, Denmark it's around 20:04

          Nekkeveld, Netherlands it's around 20:11

          Lyon, France it's around 20:21

            @Pepijn I read somewhere that people with Meta connected glasses can actually use those! Check with ChatGPT that it’s ok first though!

                  @juliette @Pepijn owners of meta glasses can definitely use those, but best microwave them for five minutes before looking directly into the sun

                    @Pepijn

                    Cool idea, but FYI:

                    "... sunlight alongside ultraviolet radiation may permanently damage your camera's optics"

                    One solution: "place a certified solar filter in front of your smartphone's camera optics"
