Hi I am new to Mastodon, I don't really know what I am doing here yet. Does anyone know of any cool nonprofits or gamedev people to follow? Currently my feed is just the internet archive. I love that, but it might not lead to a very satisfying experience.
I've got over 700 people I'm following, so it might be hard to pick few (and to be completely honest, I don't remember most of them what they do/their hobies, just know most of them are awesome
)It's good idea to follow some HashTags like #GameDev / #IndieGameDev or #NonProfit in your case.
I hope you'll find it here friendly and more relaxing than most of the internet, not even talking about other social networks.

@FandaSin Thanks FandaSin :). So far so good. I was looking for places to escape 90% AI written advertisements/engagement posts. So far mastodon has a lot of the "old internet" vibe too it. I like it.
I didn't realize you could follow hashtags thank you for the tip!

@withinity You can also follow hashtags on here, like #GameDev for instance, so you'll see any posts that use that tag.

Also I recommend putting in a profile picture. Just something you like from your recent photos, doesn't need to be anything particularly good as a profile picture. It will make people more likely to accept follow requests.
