"We didn't expect such violence."
Dimitris Plionis, survivor of the 2010 Mavi Marmara massacre, shares a chilling testimony of the violent and racist attack 80 miles before reaching Gaza with humanitarian aid.
The Mavi Mamara was part of a flotilla of six vessels attempting to break the siege of Gaza. Israeli military lowered themselves onto the Mavi Mamara while it was in international waters and fired live ammunition at the unarmed crew.
All missions past and present bring us closer to a free Palestine. This Flotilla carries that legacy, following in the footsteps of those who came before us. We honor our elders in the movement and the sacrifice of the martyrs.
We call on Israel to refrain from attacking our peaceful mission.
