@ErikJonker
And recall that the USA have (had) lots of military bases in Europe, not only for security of these countries but above all for the USA.@IreneMoews ...still has, losing Ramstein for example would really make operations in the middle east more difficult

#USA #NATO #Trump #geopolitics @geopolitics@ErikJonker @geopolitics @CyReVolt even more when you consider adjusting per capita. Estonia is only 1.3 million people. And their defense spending as a ratio of GDP is higher than the requirement by a wider margin than most NATO states.
-
@ErikJonker @geopolitics good to share. Also should highlight many of the deaths were friendly fire from American airstrikes
@implementcontrols Can confirm, including my friend Mark.
"On September 4, 2006, Graham was killed in a friendly fire incident when two USAF A-10 Thunderbolts fired on his platoon, having mistaken them for Taliban insurgents. He was awarded the Sacrifice Medal and is buried at the National Military Cemetery in Ottawa."

The US is no longer an ally. They are a sufficiently dysfunctional country that they disqualify themselves.

#USA #NATO #Trump #geopolitics @geopolitics@ErikJonker @geopolitics Which country invoked article 5 for the first and only time in the history of NATO? Which countries reacted? All of them! But no, now NATO is a bigger threat than Russia and China.

It would be interesting to break out how many were killed by US soldiers. I vaguely recall the first British casualties in the Gulf War being due to friendly fire from the US. Reports of deaths from friendly fire often make the news in these conflicts and it seems like it’s almost always the US who is responsible.
@david_chisnall @ErikJonker @geopolitics Yes, definitely.

Scanning https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_friendly_fire_incidents the majority of friendly fire casualties do appear to same-nation accidents, but I saw four cases of American air support firing on British or Canadian troops leading to 16 dead and 43 injured - plus one RAF Tornado shot down by US Patriot battery.

@ErikJonker @geopolitics It's amazing how the vassals in the Pig Empire use that as an argument, how they actually achieved ‘NOTHING’ while destroying 4.5 million people.
Fuck me, I hate liberals so much.
@wackJackle @ErikJonker @geopolitics Could you clarify? Does that mean you hate everyone or just liberals in contrast to conservatives?
-
@ErikJonker @geopolitics@a.gup.pe Why do people still place stock in anything that comes out of his wordhole. So much energy goes into countering the lies and presenting the truth that the truth ends up looking like just an alternative narrative.
@byrnensorg @ErikJonker in the US, we are plagued with a high degree of easily manipulated STUPID RACIST. But I’d also ask for a relative comparison with humans around the world for a clearer picture.

@oschonrock @ErikJonker @geopolitics At this point you are right, the US should be considered an adversary, but don’t be super quick to burn all bridges, the US is still in flux, reversal is possible.
Humpty used to represent 40% (today maybe 20% plus Bs), but with a 50 year trend in deterioration, I’m not particularly hopeful, while still hoping for reversal, which still might involve a revolution or breakup of the States. Then all bets are off.

@wesdym @ErikJonker That comes with being a mentally ill, evil moron with one skill, bringing out the selfish racist in other low level dummies. A prevalence of disenfranchised stupid and backing by co-conspirator Bs is the only reason Humpty has gotten this far. A good lesson to remember, as if it will save us at this point.

@Huntn00 @ErikJonker Well that on the face of it may prove harder to do than it appears for quite a few examples are tainted with the tangerine touch. I refer to far right emboldening in Israel, UK, France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands replacement of political leaders in Venezuela, Iran and an attempt in Greenland. We could search for independent acts of racist movements to equal or supersede those of Trump and his cult, but isn't that precisely what he wants us to do?

@byrnensorg @ErikJonker The bottom line, we’re humans who tend to be selfish, and if the $$$ opportunity appears we can lose perspective and make self-destructive choices. At this point, I’ll say there’s some hope, while not being hopeful, and that we’ll probably crash the planet, kill off a couple billion people, and have to start over near the bottom, maybe relearning or evolving into a better species.
