Anyone have contact with Microsoft network ops?

@pluralistic @kat Of course! Hopefully it helps.

@pluralistic @Aaron @kat It would also be good if independent mail server operators file complaints at https://competition-policy.ec.europa.eu/antitrust-and-cartels/procedures/complaints_en so this anti-competitive behavior can be ended for once and for all.
-
@pluralistic if you find one, please let us know. They blocked one of our IPs and their SNDS system is broken and won't let us add our own IPs so we can't find out why.

Anyone have contact with Microsoft network ops? They've blackholed my SMTP (204.11.50.134) (which is used by me and half a dozen other people, none of whom send spam), and my admin's on vacation and I don't wanna screw up his time off. This is obviously a false positive though.
@pluralistic It's a rite of passage. You haven't run a proper mailserver if you haven't been blocked by Microsoft mailservers at least once in your life.

@pluralistic Looks like a mitigation should resolve the issue in the next 24-48 hours. Hopefully sooner.

I'm my companies Office 365 admin. If you'd like, I'll send you my email address and you can email me. And then when it's blocked I can report it as a mistake. I don't know if one report will be enough but it can't hurt.

@Hanno Zulla Sad but true. -

@pluralistic We definitely need a solution to this.. Microsoft & Google effectively control what e-mail gets sent and what does not today.

@Cory Doctorow Welcome to Big Tech's subtle ways to disrupt other mail systems, so that people will decide to "just use Microsoft, that always works".
Google does the same. Completely legit mail will disappear, or be marked as spam without any reason. "If you use GMail to send mail, that doesn't happen."@hans Yes, nice!
For local mailings I have the Reply-to via the M365 based mail server for the party forwarding our mail to our local mail account as I've seen forwards from the M365 to our mailbox with Strato bounce.I also noticed that some people must be on the list with an MS mail address which they have set to forward to their GMail, also these bounce.
So, yes, goes brilliant.

And there's a younger generation who only knows the word gmail, and not the word email.
But perhaps DeltaChat https://delta.chat/en/blog will bring light at the end of the tunnel for the rest of us. Our own encrypted mail chat network. 🤨
