When did you stop posting on X?
Person A: When its owner made nazi salutes.
Person B: When it became a production and distribution channel for images of child sexual abuse.
Government: We're still posting there.
@andrewstroehlein
Sad how true this is for basically every country in the world -
I posted a lot on Twitter - but never on X. His purchase of the platform was enough for me to leave along with a sizeable number of other mastodon posters

I don't know why that was my line but I deleted my account there when the view counts went in soon after musk took over.

@andrewstroehlein Me: When they blocked posting links to other platforms (since reversed, but that was the final nail in the coffin). The last time I returned it was to fix my profile showing I had left and where to find me not on X.

@andrewstroehlein I closed my account WAY back, the moment I heard Elon Musk express his interest in buying Twitter. I never regretted that decision.

@andrewstroehlein may I also alert you to this longer post I just put up through my fedi.at account.
It deals with major news outlets and political parties continuing to offer the option to people to follow them on "X":

@andrewstroehlein for me, back in June 2023, after the Twitter logo was briefly replaced by the doge icon. I had many friends leave before that, when that fascist bought it. I'd been on there 13 years. I wrote a eulogy for it here: https://spacetimetech.wordpress.com/2023/06/12/the-life-and-death-of-twitter

@andrewstroehlein Left Twitter when he purchased it. Lost 9k followers but never looked back. Incredible seeing what it's become.

@andrewstroehlein I stopped long before it was named X, back in January 2021, when I canceled my Twitter account because the atmosphere there was already going bad and fascist.

@andrewstroehlein when comments with gifs of SS shooting people where no problem but my adittingly verbose answer to that was.

@MatthewNewell @andrewstroehlein
When Musk bought Twitter the new policy was that calling a trans person by their dead name or misgendering them would not be considered "abuse"... and yet calling a cis person by a name other than their own to be rude, or misgendering a cis person *would* still be abuse.
With such a moderating system you basically have moderation for some but not for others. And it was obvious to me it would spread to include non-whites, non-christians, women etc.
Untenable.
