@thomholwerda nothing new. I'm not talking about Luinus only.
It is true that must of the major Open Source developments are "open" because their main developers though that it is the best way to get contributions (free workers).
There is not altruism at all in a lot of cases.
Open and Free software stands for allowing users to exercise their personal freedom. So users have to choose how to use it, for the common good or for their own.
Ideology in free software simply ambiguous IMHO.
I'm not defending Linus. It's just his opinion. I have my own. -

@thomholwerda Well, the foundation has a CEO and some other managers for quite some time. And also for quite some time "managers" are getting more money than Linus. (Apart from "other", see [1].)It's not like I envy or pity his salary. That's not the point.
The point is that foundation diverged from the original goal quite some time ago.

@thomholwerda And according to some other news, Linus is worth $150M. E.g. quite well insulated to say freely what he thinks, showing (part of) his true self. -
@tragivictoria @thomholwerda he's also always followed money. I was around for the redhat debacles and the gpl module messes. He's a bad person with only his own interest in mind, and questioning that leads to his outbursts. Always has been.
