Blake's 7 is so cheaply done. It's just so poor. They literally could not have spent less money on it. The BBC obviously paid almost zero pounds. Imagine 1970s Doctor Who but with half the budget. Everyone does their best but it's just cardboard and tinsel and the cardboard looks scavenged from the dumpster after some rain.
I still love it though, the actors make it work, somehow! But oof it's such a subpar production. Truly the triumph of imagination and craft over resources.

@upmultimedia At least they seem to have actually sewed the costumes - unlike original Star Trek, where half the non-regular costumes were clearly made by draping & pinning pieces of cloth nondestructively, without even cutting them if at all possible, so the material could go back on the shelf after the shoot
