    I'm idly curious about the difference in ‘arrival culture’ among people when they join the Fediverse, depending where they're arriving from.

    Anecdotally, I’ve noticed a contrast in some sets of new arrivals. Almost unfailingly, Forkiverse newcomers toot an intro, have a photo & bio and use Alt Text from the start, before following people. Almost as unfailingly, new Denmark-based accounts tend to be empty. No photo, intro, bio or toots. Which doesn't encourage people to follow back or interact.

      New Beige Party-tooters are another group that do a good mutual introduction when they arrive, I find. They usually have a bio and avatar and toot an introduction right from the start. They've usually even learnt to say Beige Bless in their intro.

      (It's not that I'm stalking Beige Party. I just happen to follow a lot of people who are members of Beige Party. I live in fear that the Rulers of Beige Party will notice this and remove me for not being cool enough to follow members of Beige Party.)

        @CiaraNi What is Beige Party?

        And in regards to the Danish accounts: I think most of them haven't committed yet, but are just here to check it out. And will probably never like it as they find that "nothing happens"...

          @Ellegaarddk Beige.party is a server that seems to have a generally lovely atmosphere. Shortly after I joined the Fediverse, I noticed that quite a few of the people I started to follow were all on the Beige Party server. They are often kind and chatty and cool and funny. And witty. Both about nice things, like flowers, and awful things, like Trump.
