The fact that the thread under this Serious Toot has ascended into a pleasant war about the correct way to pronounce Scone is why I love the Fediverse
@CiaraNi If you ever resolve that war, you can refine it into the cream/jam first mayhem!
-
@CiaraNi The correct answer back is to reply: "yes, I do everything wrong. It's the story of my life. Can you fix that for me?"

@timo21 Ha yes, if they want to issue the instructions, they need to come over and do the work involved
-
@CiaraNi You seem rather opinionated on these matters...
Also, scone rhymes with gone because I dated a Scouser for 3 years, and it's cream first because it's a damned mess to spread clotted cream on top of jam.

@SorenMRiis By 'opinionated', you meant 'right', of course.

@CiaraNi Wrong.
-
@CiaraNi I didn't know I needed this thread but I needed this thread.
This is the best part of the fediverse.
I have become educated, uneducated, then educated again on tea related topics.

@knowprose Haha thats a very Fediversey experience too, to me - I become educated, uneducated, then educated again as I read through some discussion
-

@Devonkiwi There is only mayhem if someone puts the cream first. And sure who would do a thing like that.
-
@CiaraNi Wrong.
@SorenMRiis Fair

@CiaraNi Grrrrrrrr!

@CiaraNi the correct way to pronounce scone, in any language, is yum!
-
@CiaraNi the correct way to pronounce scone, in any language, is yum!
@JamesNielsen Finally the right answer, one on which we can all agree!
-
@Sarahw @CiaraNi @bleistifterin @rgarner Drink coffee. You don't have to be fussy how you add the cream. It al mixes together.
@wsrphoto @CiaraNi @bleistifterin @rgarner
There's only one way to drink coffee - black! -
@knowprose Haha thats a very Fediversey experience too, to me - I become educated, uneducated, then educated again as I read through some discussion
@CiaraNi the joke to me is that I was born in one former English colony (US) that had a famous tea party..
Then went to another English colony and grew up in my teens where lipton was considered tea...
Then had family return from Europe to fight over tea...
So I started drinking coffee...
So this thread reminds me of home.

-
@CiaraNi Grrrrrrrr!
@Devonkiwi @CiaraNi I've lived both sides of the Tamar, eaten scones in both counties, and honestly they all taste exactly the same.
Pasties, now. They're a different story altogether.
-
@wsrphoto @CiaraNi @bleistifterin @rgarner
There's only one way to drink coffee - black!@Sarahw That is almost but not quite true

@knowprose 'So I started drinking coffee' - see now there's a constructive solution. Perfect problem-solving!

-
@psneeze Yes it is! I can't believe there are people who walk this earth saying Skon Skon Skon.
-
@Eetschrijver It is not being discussed because there is nothing to discuss. Jam first. Of course.
-

@DavidBridger @Devonkiwi I was in Cornwall once and left without eating a pastie. I think that was probably illegal. I shall rectify that next time.
