One of my first questions to any AI enthusiastic collegue over the last years has been: What about juniors? This podcast has two very experienced discussing the impact of AI in this respect - it's worth your time if you're interested. Juniors don't learn when using AI tools (and neither does the AI), and they're not even getting a productivity boost from it either. Where as seniors in general experience a big productivity boost. Should we even hire juniors? What do we do when the seniors retire? Most experienced people in my profession instinctively knows this so the question is most often answered with a ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (shrug) - which is just a cop out.
