AI image generators and AI chat bots are essentially the same technology, but nobody has ever believed that an image generator is alive, (unless it comes packaged with a chat bot).

AI image generators and AI chat bots are essentially the same technology, but nobody has ever believed that an image generator is alive, (unless it comes packaged with a chat bot).
Our innate proclivity for anthropomorphism needs certain triggers for it to kick in, like seeing a face drawn on a balloon. Claims of chat bot sentience are based purely on vibes and carry as much weight as a smiling balloon.
