I'm feeling despair as I've talked with people I work with two days in a row who use chatbots for work. My critical perspective on LLM use (which basically parrots the points of Emily Bender and the like) seems to hit a wall. We live in different worlds. The boundaries are not open for criticism on the more fundamental level. I get an urge to just pretend the bullshit is not there and turn my head the other way, go about my business, read something else etc. But every day it gets worse.
