@histoftech I feel like the words "without reading, understanding, or validating it" are extraneous and serve just to give the meat proxy wiggle room to claim they're not a meat proxy.
The definition should just be "a person who forwards AI-generated text, code, or other output".

@histoftech
This just reminded me how my then-boss, years back, called us, programmers, PowerPoint-to-code converters.I guess converter > proxy, though.

@histoftech i feel like all genai users become that eventually, as their skills and ethical stances atrophy to nothing

@histoftech For (literally) decades I have been using Meat Proxy as a term to describe people (me included) who are interacting with a system at the behest of others. I've chirped about this before but the new meme appears to have given it to the sloppageddon.
At least "Rectal Millinery" was taken over by a real breathing author so I don't mind losing that one.

@histoftech I texted a friend the other day about how there've now been three Home Alone 2 performers die this year, and yet Trump's still extant. They texted back to let me know that I was wrong, because goggle AI said it was a bogus internet rumor because Dolly wasn't in the movie. I had to tell them it has nothing to do with Dolly, and that AI was always wrong. We're so screwed that people blindly accept that tripe as reality.

@histoftech I know someone who calls *himself* a "meat terminal for Claude".
He wears this as a badge of honour, not as a mark of shame.
@datarama @histoftech That's disturbing on many levels.

@DukeDuke @histoftech The same person once, in the middle of an actual face to face conversation, took out his phone to ask ChatGPT what to say to me.

In Finnish military there has been a term 'nahkarele' that translates to 'leather relay' (or 'skin relay') for person manually copying information between systems of different classification between which there is no (approved) automated data transfer or there is a need for a human decision which information can be released.
In English the term used is typically 'swivel chair'.

@histoftech
That's a better term for so-called 'vegan alternatives', which apparently always have to compare it to real meat, for lack of imagination.
If you need a term for someone who facilitates AI, while knowing next to nothing, call them an 'AIdiot'.@wordstitcher @histoftech “meat proxy” doesn’t have the ableist baggage of terms derived from “idiot”.

@dalias @histoftech true, whenever someone is called out for LLM use, they always downplay it and insist they totally reviewed everything, or only used it for xyz and not the Really Important Work (and of course this is a lie)

@histoftech that is good one, I like it
@peteriskrisjanis @histoftech When operating flights, the term "wet" is used, as in "wet lease" (hiring a flight with the crew inside). "Wet proxy"?

@histoftech
if you can imagine the same dish but without anyone having their throat slit and bleeding to death, then the lack of imagination is less with the #vegan eating it and more with the #necrovore who is unable to imagine not eating the corpses of the young.
