@withinity if you want a feed of usually mundane, sometimes bizarre, but always unsafe consumer products, the @uscpsc feed is also occasionally leavened with shitposting

@withinity on most mastodon clients, you can follow hashtags on particular topics like #decolonization #environment #technology #politics #science #history or your local city, which can be helpful for discovering interesting individuals not just org and brands.

@withinity My recommendation would be to check out hashtags of things you are interested in, and then follow the people who are posting interesting stuff.

Use hashtags, they will come.
The trick of Mastodon is its artisanal, hand crafted, no algorithm to steer your posts.
Hashtags and follows and boosts are the rocket sleds of engagement.

@ClarusPlusPlusShe is developing a side scrolling game loosely based on Zelda 2. The demo for Enigma Hearts is out, and I've heard great things. Can't wait until I can find the time to play it. That's a good place to begin, I'd say.

I've gotten started on the demo, it's awesome and difficult to put aside!
The story is so deeply connected with everything you do, and the gameplay is challenging. Though you can do what I did and adjust the difficulty to something more easygoing. I'm enjoying the story, and exploring.

One of my biggest worries going into the demo release was the fact that I'm so good at the game now and that I was making it too hard for most other people (and whether it'd still be fun if adjusted)

So far it's been a good balancing act - engaging, sometimes a *little* frustrating (timing jumps between tiny disappearing platforms while avoiding enemies that swoop down from the ceiling
), but entirely manageable since I can heal up & save at cave entrances etc! -
