😱 Bezos said that in order for AI to reach its potential, certain resources must be allocated and prioritised for the technology rather than for human consumption like water.

@nixCraft we don't bring out the guillotines often enough and it shows.
I said similarly on a social media group, that Antoinette's "let them eat cake" doesn't even compare to this piece of inhuman shit's comments .
Unfortunately he is not the only one. In India founders of a large fintech group are advocating for the commodification of water saying it is not represented in the market. (The water scene is heavily commodified, it is just not represented in the "stock market" hence fintech angst)

Bezos said that in order for AI to reach its potential, certain resources must be allocated and prioritised for the technology rather than for human consumption like water. It’s a remarkably tone deaf statement from one of the world’s richest men, essentially suggesting human needs should yield to AI infrastructure need. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos says human water consumption is limiting AI’s potential https://theprint.in/feature/jeff-bezos-water-consumption-amazon-ai-potential/2964266/Hey, @politicalbeauty.bsky.social
ist Bezos' Falschbehauptung nichtgeradezu eine Einladung, sie künstlerisch wertvoll zu nutzen?

We need to implement solutions to limit the population so that computers can run in the cloud to send spam, display ads, and create the next wave of images, movies, and music."
Billionaires shouldn't exist. Let's empty their bank accounts! Let's put them on the street for one month a year with no means of support (just like our politicians)!

World sez, yes, please!"

I read this and thought "no fucking way. They hint at it, but they don't say it". And then I read the article and..... WOW.
Bezos: "no one gives a shit about you, AI needs your resources"
Altman also said that AI training Ressource usage is not that much - if you compare it to raising humans….

Nobody needs amazon.

How long before he understood how vital water is to human survival?
Wonder if he'd ever learn the compassion to extend that thought from his needs to wanting water for other people too?
