US troops are not in Germany to protect Germany.

@Strandjunker It will clear the way for Putin to march across all of Europe to Lisbon.
@baglava @Strandjunker Well it's taken Putin about 4 years to march 250km into Ukraine.
At that rate, we can expect him in Lisbon sometime in 2090.
Do we think he'll still be alive in 64 years?

US troops are not in Germany to protect Germany. They’re there because the US needs bases to conduct operations beyond the North American continent. If Trump withdraws them, he will harm the United States, not Germany.
It’s absurd how many Americans fail to grasp this.
Trump is actively retarding every effort we have ever put in place to protect us as US citizens. IT IS INTENTIONAL.
Everyday Trump makes it easier for ALL OF US TO BE OWNED. Get it? We are part of this project. And by WE, I mean something else Donald Trump OWNS.
This is already well known or we would not be doing things like the No Kings March. Trump is doing to us what he does best; bankrupting. His ENTIRE PURPOSE OF BEING THERE IS TO DESTROY US FROM WITHIN. While his family makes BANK is the pay off and THEY ARE GETTING PAID OFF DAILY. WE ARE IN THE PROCESS OF BEING PURCHASED BY TRUMP.
We will be his. If he manages to get past the mid terms. If we manage to have a midterm. We are SEVEN MONTHS AWAY from destiny.

@Strandjunker Please tell this to our Mr. Merz! He dosen't know for sure!
Because many pepple here are scared because of Trumps announcement.
For me it's clear to see, like most of Trumps decisions, even this one is weaking US much more than Germany and EU!

@Strandjunker Come to think of it, it'll make Iran even more of a logistical nightmare than it already is.
-
@Strandjunker isn't germany the default spot for the injured to go to
That's right. Many US veterans owe their lives to treatment they received at Ramstein after being wounded in action, or accidentally injured, in the Mideast or elsewhere. (So I'm told. No firsthand knowledge myself.)

Most?

@2legged @Strandjunker Any time in the last 35 years would have been good. Right now, not so much.
@rupert We will have to disagree about that. Removing the troops helps to detach Europe from the American war machine after 80 years. It's a historic step forward.

@Strandjunker Europe will be a safer place without US forces. The fewer the better.
-
@Strandjunker
I'm not sure, but I think it's a bit of both.
As far as I recognize, the US army is not Trump and there are many experienced generals who know what is important. The same I know lots of Americans who are reliable integer citizens and not trumpists.
I think, it's right to demand a stronger participation by Germany (and the EU) in the NATO.
But I also believe that there's a strategical interest for the US to be present in Germany. It's not easy (never been). I'm German and hope we stay with each other.
@alikatze @Strandjunker the US President is the commander in chief of their armed forces. In a way, Trump *is* the US armed forces.

@Strandjunker It's absurd how many Americans fail to grasp that Trump serves only himself and his cabal, and manifestly doesn't give a shit about his duty to the USA.

@Strandjunker Ethics by proxy: American defense roots at home, lessens afar.
And war should be the LAST ethic.

@Strandjunker well, it may harm US business interests, which is certainly tied strongly to the US state, but it will not hurt US non-ruling-class people.
-
@Strandjunker@mstdn.social Personally, I would actually feel a great deal better if the 40,000 troops of this mafia-terror state were to leave our country. That makes it more difficult for the USA to invade us.
@daswarkeinhuhn @Strandjunker you should draft a law that says once the US draws down, that number becomes the maximum allowed for any reasons.
-
@2legged @Strandjunker Any time in the last 35 years would have been good. Right now, not so much.
@rupert @2legged @Strandjunker (as an American) why are you so sure our troops would help you? All it would take is one of your citizens criticizing trump and your leader not jailing them. The opposing leader giving him a gold statue of himself and all of a sudden he doesn’t think you should fight at all now.

@Strandjunker OTOH, perhaps the US crippling their ability to operate globally while the orange idiot is the president is the best thing for the world right now.
